Mummers in Manayunk...

I've lived in Philadelphia for 4 years now via Denver, Co and I have never experienced the mummers parade first hand. This Saturday was the 2nd annual Mardi Gras mummers parade celebration here in my neighborhood, Manayunk so I had to go check it out. It was very inspiring to say the least. The costumes are so colorful and exotic. Here are some snap shots from my adventure.

It's Jewelie's Birthday...

Today my friend Jewelie would have celebrated her 38th birthday. She suddenly past away about two years ago. I still can't believe she is gone. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her. Some of the best times in my life were with her. Lucky for me I still have all those good memories! Happy birthday Jewels! I miss you. Until we meet again...

A small vacation...

I recently took a small vacation to visit one of my best friends who lives in Williamstown, Massachusetts. I met my friend Jennifer while living in San Diego.
We connected instantly, being that she was a east coaster on the west coast and we both love all things vintage! Here are some snapshots from my little vacation to New England.

Jewels ballet...

If you know me then you know that I lost one of my closest dear friends about a year ago. Her name was Jewelie. But we called her Jewels for short. She loved to dance. She took ballet classes and had so much love for ballet, that at one point had a ballet bar installed by her dad in her living room. What can I say, she was very passionate. So, when I saw this billboard here in Philadelphia I couldn't help but think they named the ballet after you Jewelie! Miss you so much...

R.I.P. Jewelie Mendenhall

I lost one of my best friends this August 2012. Jewelie was one of my first friends I made when I moved to San Diego, Ca. I met her when I started working at the "Service Station" hair salon in the Kennsington neighborhood of San Diego. She instantly be-friend ed me. Some of the best times in my life were with this gal. She was very unique and passionate. She introduced me to the Avocado, like a good California native should. She also introduced me to the world of swing dancing. She loved to dance. She was a friend I could just call up any time and chat. She was someone you could count on. I miss her dearly. Here are some of the photos from our friendship.
